Campus Recycling Video
Recently I put together a two and half minute piece about Oregon State’s campus recycling effort during football games. I never knew before but the amount of trash and recycling that goes on during a normal home game is pretty amazing. We’re talking tons of trash and a lot of it can be recycled, which is exactly what Campus Recycling does.
In the video, footage was shot by Evan Gutt and myself. I edited the piece and created the graphics for the text points. Here are some things about this project worth noting:
- Getting up early to watch the Philomath High School football team clean up the stadium the next day is pretty neat, despite the sounds of it. There’s just so much trash leftover and the emptiness of the stadium really is different from when thousands of loud, often drunk, fans fill the stands.
- If you watch close enough in the video, you will see Tony the Tiger, if you blink you’ll miss him!
- If you’re wondering, those cans (mostly beer) do get recycled for deposit money. This time around OSU SIFE volunteered and helped get it donated to the Linn-Benton Food Share for a total of $331.
And without further adieu, the video:
