Malmo's Turning Torso in Sweden

I’ve gotten time in the past couple of weeks to begin making changes to the site as part of a continuous improvement. I still am using the Yashfa theme as a core and often times I wonder if I will get to creating my own WordPress theme, but right now I’m happy with the customizations I’ve made. If you compare the original theme to this one, they are quite different and even more so now.

I’ve recently made changes so that each page is a custom page template with potentially custom, widgetized sidebars and headers. The front page is still similar with featured content and basic contact info. Blog page now shows post titles nicer, and posts show up without strange borders as per the original theme. Perhaps the biggest visual change is the background that I applied.

Up on the list of things to do? Revolutionizing my portfolio page (temporarily gone for now), and eventually revamping the site.

Site refresh

So in the past long months I’ve finished school, traveled Europe and studied over there. I haven’t posted anything here in a long while and that’s due a whole lot of things. But I’m looking at the site here (bot hacked twice while over in Sweden…) and thinking that the front page needs to be a little more visually appealing while the rest of the site remains the same as a more in-depth look. I want the landing page to pose as a summary, almost like a resume really. Then have the secondary pages to be like complementary things.

Favorite photo while I was over there? Too many to count, but here’s a great one I really liked of the Eiffel tower in Paris.

Sharing Begins

If you’re reading this, I don’t need to tell you how the web had changed every part of our lives. From how we communicate to the way we do business the Internet is kind of a big deal. But I think one of the most important things that the web has brought to us is a level playing field for all people to have the chance to share and learn from one another whether we are beginners or professionals.

Sharing. That’s what the web was designed under, that’s why social media is so important to how the web is now developing; so we can better share the things we want to the world.

For me, that sharing begins today.
